The Moon tarot card upright

The Moon represents facing your deepest fears. It can represent feeling pulled by something deep and profound and something that defies language and definition. It represents your dreams. It represents your nightmares, fantasies, illusion – things that are unseen. A sense or feeling of being pulled by tides or unknown motivation. Looking at things in a different light, being able to sense dishonesty and guile, acting instinctively, being in the dark about something, tapping into your subconscious to understand yourself and your life. It can represent repeating patterns, returning to a previous cycle in your life, being bewildered, scared, confused, uncertain or frightened – but still moving with courage.

Face your fears. Look at them, embrace to that you might not be able to completely understand a situation right now. It might be time just to sit and kind of be in the dark over something. Explore the deep motivations in your life. Look at the patterns and cycles that return again and again and again. Be honest with yourself and others be still. Know that powerful forces are at work. This is not a superficial time. Pay attention to your dreams nightmares fears and fantasies and explore the common threads that link your universal themes in your life. If you can’t make logical sense of things – don’t. Let things reveal themselves – you’re going again through a very auspicious time, but it really is quite deep and rather private.

The Moon tarot reversed

It represents denying, trying to ward off anxieties, fears and trying to stave off what is upsetting you. It is feeling in the dark. This can be feeling overwhelmed by fear or denying that you have any pushing for an answer that isn’t ready to be revealed. It can be allowing fear and anxiety overwhelming you to the point of inertia. The best course of action for the Moon tarot reversed

Sometimes you got to be stuck. Sometimes the answer is not ready to be seen and the way only way out is through. Allow yourself to see your fears and then begin to face them and know that you cannot make the moon set or move by sheer force of will, you must allow things to be what they are. Know that change is coming but there is much happening which is unknowable, unseen happening beneath the surface. If you’re stuck Rouse yourself and begin to move but if you find yourself engaged in a frenetic activity, calm yourself and be still. Overall this is caution and a call not to let your dreams your fears your anxieties to overwhelm. Don’t get stuck in daydreaming about things, make sure you ground yourself.
